- What is the main difference between how/why photo editing was used in the DOVE video vs. the TED video? Photo editing was used in the dove video so that a product could be sold. In the ted video, the artists were restoring pictures to their original form to make memories stay alive.
- What percentage of photos that you see online, on TV or in magazines do YOU think are photo edited? What makes you think this? I would say above 90%. I think this, because society today makes girls think they have to be perfect, flawless.
- Becci said: "We take photos constantly, they are memory-keepers of our lives...the last thing you would take with you, but the first thing you go back to find" -- What photo(s) would you be most devastated to lose? I would hate to lose pictures from my childhood or family vacations. OR, what photos do you WISH you had? Perhaps there is a person or memory you wish you could have saved in some way with a photograph, what or who would that be? I wish I could have had a picture of me and my grandpa before he died.
The first picture is an example of a photograph, because it is obviously a staged picture. The photographer perfectly lines up the old picture with the street, trees, telephone poles, and cars. The second picture is a picture of a little kid taken in the spur of the moment, no planing done. I do not think that the two different styles of picture can be mixed into one picture. The difference between the two techniques is that one is thought about and planned out (photograph), and usually a nice camera is used not a phone or other device. A snapshot is usually unplanned I would say and more of a picture you would take if you were walking around and see something cool and take a picture of it.
Photography affecting your world
Discussed: 9/16
Truly...think about this.....
How many times do you see a photograph cross your path daily?
1. What role does photography play in your world? Is photography part of the "world" you look at? Does it touch your school day, work day, play day, or is it throughout the entertainment you seek? Is there some that you notice more than others? Why?
Perhaps you are noticing photographs more....Why?
Photography plays a big role in my world because it is used as a teaching strategy at school and used to bring out our emotion. It is apart of my everyday life. Some I notice more than others because they are brought into my life and I am told they are important.
2. How does photography affect how your perceive information if it does at all?
Photography sticks with me more than a paragraph of words. It helps me understand the importance of an event.
